What is PulseTrace?
PulseTrace is an external monitoring and change-intelligence platform. It watches the things that quietly break your users — endpoints, certificates, DNS and domains, and whole multi-step API workflows — from a fleet of global probes, then traces the exact moment something drifts and tells you what changed and where. Every result streams into one timeline that opens incidents, flags anomalies and generates the reports you need to prove uptime.
What can I monitor?
Twelve monitor types on one spine: HTTP(S), TCP, UDP, DNS, ping/ICMP, gRPC and WebSocket for uptime and protocol checks; SSL/TLS security-posture grading and domain intelligence (RDAP, DNSSEC, email authentication) for the control plane; and multi-step API journeys for full workflows. They all share the same scheduling, regions, incidents and timeline.
Do I need a credit card to try it?
No. The Free plan is free forever — no card, no sales call. You get 10 monitors on 1-minute checks with 3 days of history, plus email and webhook alerts. Paid plans add a 14-day trial when you're ready for tighter intervals and the intelligence features.
How long does setup take?
A few minutes. Paste a URL and pick a type, or point PulseTrace at an OpenAPI spec and it creates one monitor per endpoint with assertions pre-filled. Required fields are marked; everything else has a sane default, so your first monitor is live across regions almost immediately.

What's included in the Free plan?
10 monitors, 1-minute check intervals, 3 days of history, one probe region, and uptime & protocol monitoring (HTTP, TCP, DNS, ping, gRPC, WebSocket) with email and webhook alerts. It's meant for a side project or a first team endpoint, and it stays free.
How do the paid plans differ?
Team ($29/mo) raises you to 50 monitors on 30-second checks with 30-day history, and unlocks security posture, multi-step journeys, change intelligence, latency anomaly baselines, API + MCP access and 5 seats across 3 regions. Pro ($85/mo) goes to 200 monitors on 15-second checks with 12-month history and the full intelligence suite — correlation, Certificate Transparency and look-alike domain watch, full anomaly detection, and SLA & scheduled reporting. Enterprise is custom: unlimited monitors, 10-second checks, SSO/SAML, audit logs, a DPA and a dedicated CSM. The full comparison is on the pricing page.
What does "data retention" mean?
Retention is how long PulseTrace keeps your check history, metrics and intelligence findings before they roll off. It's 3 days on Free, 30 days on Team and 12 months on Pro and Enterprise. Data older than your plan's window is rotated out automatically across the whole dataset — so retention is a real, enforced limit, not just a display setting.
Can I change or cancel my plan?
Yes. You can upgrade, downgrade or cancel at any time. When you move to a plan with lower limits, PulseTrace keeps you within the new limits gracefully rather than deleting anything unexpectedly, and history beyond the new retention window rolls off on the plan's schedule. Annual billing saves two months.

How the monitoring works

Where do the checks run from?
From a fleet of global probe regions. Every monitor is checked from the regions you choose, in parallel, on your interval — so you see regional differences (a route that's slow from Europe but fine from the US) instead of a single blended number. Free uses one region; Team uses three; Pro and Enterprise can use all of them.
Can I monitor internal or private services?
Yes. Alongside the multi-region cloud probes, you can run private agents inside your own network to watch services that never touch the public internet — the same monitor types, scheduling and timeline, just reaching endpoints only your network can see.
What's the difference between uptime monitoring and the intelligence features?
Uptime monitoring answers "is it up, and how fast right now." The intelligence layer answers "what changed, and does it matter" — it grades your TLS posture, tracks your domain and DNS control plane, detects external changes to what you monitor, and correlates signals across monitors so a certificate change, a DNS edit and a latency spike read as one story rather than three unrelated alerts.
How does anomaly detection work?
PulseTrace learns each signal's normal — its typical latency, availability and rhythm — and flags departures from that baseline, so you catch a service degrading before it fully fails. Latency anomaly baselines are available from Team; full anomaly detection (availability, per-signal and flapping) is on Pro and Enterprise.

API, access and your data

Is there an API?
Yes — a REST API covers everything the app does, authenticated with scoped API keys so a key only carries the permissions you grant it. You can create monitors, read results, manage incidents and pull reports programmatically. API access is included from the Team plan up.
What is MCP access?
PulseTrace speaks MCP (Model Context Protocol), so your AI clients and agents can query your monitoring — ask about incidents, check a monitor's health, or pull intelligence findings — through a governed, policy-controlled interface rather than a raw API key. MCP access is included from the Team plan up and is governed by the same plan and policy controls as the rest of the platform.
What integrations are supported?
Alerts and incidents route to Slack, PagerDuty and outbound webhooks, so PulseTrace fits the channels your team already watches. The REST API and MCP server cover everything else you'd want to wire up yourself. Integrations are available from the Team plan up.
Can I invite my team?
Yes. Free is single-operator; Team includes 5 seats, Pro 20, and Enterprise unlimited. From Pro up you also get role-based access control, a credential vault and separate environments, so people get exactly the access they need and monitor secrets stay protected.
How is my data handled?
Your monitoring data is yours. PulseTrace processes it only to provide the service — running your checks, detecting change and generating your reports — and keeps it for exactly as long as your plan's retention window, then rotates it out.
